About the Role
We are launching a pioneering six-month research initiative to develop a Verification Framework for Large Language Models (LLMs) in Islamic Research. This project bridges Islamic scholarship and cutting-edge AI, ensuring AI-generated Islamic content remains accurate, authentic, and aligned with theological principles.
We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals for three key roles.
Requirements
1. Research Fellow – Islamic Theology and LLM Verification
Location:Â London, UK / Abuja, Nigeria / Remote Duration:Â 6 months
Role Overview:Lead the theological research underpinning the verification framework. You will collaborate with AI experts to ensure Islamic principles are accurately represented in AI outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct literature reviews on Islamic principles in AI contexts.
Develop a theological verification rubric (Hadith grading, Tafsir alignment, contextual accuracy).
Create benchmark scenarios/questions for LLM evaluation.
Participate in testing existing LLMs using the framework.
Co-author the academic publication.
Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of Qur’an, Hadith, Tafsir, and Usul al-Fiqh.
Fluency in Arabic and English.
Familiarity with digital Islamic tools (e.g., Al-Maktaba al-Shamila).
Strong analytical and collaborative skills.
2. AI Specialist – Model Verification & Evaluation
Location:Â London, UK / Abuja, Nigeria / Remote Duration:Â 6 months
Role Overview:Translate theological verification principles into technical testing tools and evaluation methods for LLMs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze LLM strengths/weaknesses in Islamic content generation.
Implement verification rules in testable formats (prompt engineering, semantic checks).
Develop scripts/tools for model probing and scoring.
Collaborate with the Research Fellow on testing and data collection.
Contribute technical results and appendices for the final paper.
Qualifications:
Experience with NLP/LLM frameworks (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain).
Knowledge of evaluation techniques (hallucination detection, prompt injection testing).
Interest in responsible AI and domain-specific AI ethics.
Familiarity with QA frameworks and explainable AI.
3. Project Manager / Administrator
Location:Â London, UK / Abuja, Nigeria / Remote Duration:Â 6 months
Role Overview:Ensure smooth project delivery, milestone tracking, and coordination between theological and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and track the project plan and deliverables.
Facilitate communication between scholars, reviewers, and AI specialists.
Organize stakeholder feedback sessions and testing schedules.
Prepare milestone reports and manage journal submission processes.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and publication-ready.
Qualifications:
Proven project management skills (preferably in research or software).
Strong writing, formatting, and organizational skills.
Understanding of research ethics and cross-cultural collaboration.
Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
